CDM denounces President Trump’s pardon of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio as yet another attack on immigrants and migrant workers. In pardoning a shameless spokesperson for racism and serial violator of basic civil and constitutional rights, President Trump has reaffirmed his commitment to anti-immigrant policies at the cost of rights that apply to everyone in the United States. Trump’s decision is another in a series of actions that show his contempt for immigrants and the rule of law, undermining the values of freedom and justice that unite our nation.
