We want a World Cup that champions human rights!
In 2026, for the first time, three countries will host together the FIFA World Cup: Mexico, United States and Canada. It Will be the biggest World Cup to date with 48 teams vying for a chance to win.
In response to worrying labor rights violations in past events, for United 2026, FIFA required the 16 host cities to develop holistic human rights plans and establish complaint mechanisms to protect the labor rights of all workers involved in the World Cup championship.
This is a great opportunity to implement changes that go beyond 2026 and to make sure that migrant workers that make mega events like the FIFA World Cup possible, are able to work under decent conditions, respectful of their labor and human rights.
