Our History
The Migrant Defense Committee was founded in Zacatecas, Mexico in 2006, when a group of migrant workers who were facing abuse and violations of their labor rights raised their voices to seek justice. Supported by the Centro de los Derechos del Migrante, Inc. (CDM), they decided to organize and invite others to first receive training and learn about their rights, and later formed a Committee that fights for better labor protections and working conditions.
Who are we?
The Migrant Defense Committee is made up of a group of migrant leaders, former migrants, and families of migrants who fight for labor justice in the United States.
