Did you work for A & B Foods or PH Food? This information is for you, here is why and what you should do as soon as possible

Through an investigation, the Department of Labor in the United States recovered $285,000 in denied salaries to workers at chicken processing plants in Mississippi.

These protein processing plants denied paying minimum wage to 313 employees. The investigation, conducted through the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor, revealed that A & B Foods and PH Food did not comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act when they illegally withheld workers' salaries to the point where they paid, on average, less than the federal minimum wage.

In addition, plants failed to pay overtime after employees worked more than 40 hours per week. Both employers did not keep records of hours worked and instructed some people not to record their arrival time at work so they would not have to pay their employees for that time.

The Department of Labor has met with many workers to deliver the wages owed. However, more than 40 people still have not been located. If you worked at one of these companies, your salary could be waiting for you! Do not overthink it. It is your job, and you have a right to the salary that has been denied. Communicate with the Wage and Hour Division at the Department of Labor confidentially by calling 866-487-9243.
