La semana pasada Reuters, una agencia de noticias, publicó que una empresa subsidiaria de Hyundai Motor Company, ubicada en Montgomery, Alabama, utilizó mano de obra infantil en una fábrica que suministra piezas para uno de los fabricantes de automóviles más poderosos y rentables del mundo.

Según la agencia, tres de ellos eran migrantes guatemaltecos menores de edad, en algunos casos de 12 años, quienes además no asistían a la escuela. Trabajaban en una planta de estampado de metales operada por SMART Alabama LLC.
