On May 25 of this year,  the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Labor announced an addition of 22,000 H-2B visas for the rest of fiscal year 2021.  There are a couple of things to consider along with this update; for example: 

• It will only be available for employers that forecast permanent or severe financial loss. Another requirement is that they are left with no choice but to hire workers from abroad if there are no U.S. workers.

In May 2018, Maritza Perez, a Mexican citizen from Tuxpan, Veracruz, was hired by a Florida based farm for agricultural work with an H2-A visa. She was told that she would be harvesting pumpkins, cucumbers, and peppers. Although never having worked in the United States before, Maritza was excited for the economic opportunity that the job presented. She hoped to care for her parents and siblings with the wages she would earn.

Often, some job descriptions posted on these public and private Facebook posts are too good to be true.
